General Information of Inner Mongolia University

Inner Mongolia University is located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and a famous historical and cultural city, more than 400 kilometers away from Beijing.

The university covers 11 disciplines of philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management and art. It has two national key disciplines of Chinese minority language, literature and zoology, one national key cultivation discipline of ecology; 18 key disciplines and 8 key cultivation disciplines of autonomous regions.There are 12 first-level doctoral degree authorization, 1 second-level doctoral degree authorization, 23 first-level master's degrees, 2 second-level master's degree authorization, 15 master's degree authorization categories, and 8 post-doctoral research mobile stations.Biology has been selected as the national "Double First-class" construction discipline, and Biology, ecology, chemistry, ethnology, Chinese language and literature (Mongolian language and literature), and Chinese history have been selected as the "Double First-class" construction discipline of the autonomous region.

The whole university has 27,300 students of all kinds. Among them, there are 15,834 undergraduates, 812 doctoral students, 6,741 master's students, 13,744 undergraduates in the school department, 812 doctoral students, 6,491 master's students, and 450 overseas students .

International exchange and cooperation of Inner Mongolia University

The university has established exchanges and cooperation relations with 106 universities and scientific research institutions abroad (overseas), and the international cooperation and exchanges between teachers and students have been expanding and deepening. In cooperation with Arizona State University in the United States, the Inner Mongolia Research Center for Sino-US Ecology, Energy and Sustainability Sciences has been established; in cooperation with Aichi University in Japan, the Sino-Japanese Joint GIS Application and Regional Economic Industry Research Center has been established; British Enterprise Digital Laboratory. The university has the Mongolian Studies Center, the Russian Language and Culture Center, the Canadian Studies Center, the Japanese Studies Center, the Australian Studies Center, the American Studies Center, the Hohhot Sino-Japanese Exchange Window, and the Confucius Institute is established in cooperation with the Kalmyk State University in Russia. The school is the first batch of national demonstration bases for studying in China approved by the Ministry of Education, the Chinese preparatory education base for Mongolian students in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the new Chinese proficiency test site for international students from Hanban in China. It accepts Chinese government scholarships, international Chinese teacher scholarships and Inner Mongolia Autonomous region government scholarship for international students in colleges and universities in China. The university has an international education college, which annually accepts Mongolia, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Laos, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, India, Pakistan, Ukraine, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and Spain from the four continents of Asia, Europe, the United States and Africa. Nearly 700 students from 26 countries including Nigeria, Rwanda, Togo, etc. came to China.
